1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using FileNinja (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

FileNinja provides a free online file conversion service that allows users to convert files between various formats, including but not limited to document conversions (Word to PDF, PDF to Word, Excel to PDF) and image conversions (JPG to PNG, PNG to JPG, HEIC to JPG). The Service also includes file compression tools for both documents and images.

3. User Responsibilities

By using our Service, you agree to the following:

  • You will only upload files that you own or have the legal right to convert
  • You will not upload files containing illegal, harmful, or malicious content
  • You will not attempt to circumvent any security measures or access controls
  • You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • You will not use automated tools or bots to access the Service in a manner that could overload our servers
  • You are responsible for downloading your converted files within the 10-minute window before they are automatically deleted

4. File Handling and Storage

All files uploaded to FileNinja are temporarily stored on our servers for the sole purpose of performing the requested conversion. Files are automatically and permanently deleted within 10 minutes of upload. We do not retain copies of your files beyond this period. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to download converted files before they are deleted. We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from failure to download files within the allotted time.

5. File Size Limitations

Each conversion tool has specific file size limitations. Document conversions generally support files up to 50MB, while image conversions support files up to 25MB. PDF compression supports files up to 100MB. We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time without prior notice.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership rights to the files you upload and the converted output files. FileNinja does not claim any intellectual property rights over your content. The FileNinja name, logo, website design, and all associated branding are the intellectual property of FileNinja and may not be used without our prior written consent.

7. Advertising

FileNinja is a free service supported by advertising. By using our Service, you acknowledge and agree that advertisements will be displayed during your use of the Service, including but not limited to interstitial ads shown during file processing and banner ads on various pages. We use third-party advertising networks to serve these advertisements.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that conversion results will be perfectly accurate. We make no warranties regarding the quality, accuracy, or completeness of any converted files. You use the Service at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FileNinja shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is zero, as the Service is free).

10. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service for any of the following purposes:

  • Converting files that contain child exploitation material
  • Converting files that infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Converting files that contain malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Using the Service to facilitate any illegal activity
  • Reselling or redistributing the Service without our written permission

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
